In this photograph, the main thing I wanted to capture was the sign saying farcet along with a proportion of the church, there was a lot of things in the image I didn’t want to incorporate for example the bus stop and the lamppost so my shot of the church wasn’t to the standard I wanted it to be. However, the sign post and the church coincided with the theme places, almost by itself without explanation. The application is architecture; I increased the clarity of my image in order to define the brick work and the windows of the church. It looks quit aged and weathered, s ii changed the tone to a slightly darker one in order to play on the ancient old fashioned feel of the building. Even though the sign post is position out of the rule of thirds, I believe the colours allow it to stand out. The Church itself would be the focal point however the sign post gives you a little extra to look at. I took this photo using an F stop of 8; I didn’t want a lot of light in this image, because I didn’t want it to be over exposed I wanted to be able to see all the bricks and the glass of the church. I wanted it to look like quite dingy and old so I didn’t require a lot of light. To compliment this I used an iso of 100 which has a lower sensitivity to light.
