Mayfair Vol 3 #1: The Paradigms of Humanity
*Three months later*
Judge Nord: “Would you kindly state the disappearance of the Queen herself?”
Sean: “Ah shit, here we go again…”
The trials. The trials for oneself to commit for the sins we’ve committed, and how to atone. Apparently what happened last time was a violation of the terms because our group carried out unauthorized acts, but it needed to be done.
Where does that leave us? On trial. Day and night, time over time, questioned about the morals on the sake of magic.
Isn’t that our purpose though? Apparently, not everyone thinks so alike.
Sean: “I would refute from using moronic as a term; it makes no sense. It is stupid beyond measure. I stand by my words.”
Judge Seams : “And you do not feel guilty?”
Sean: No, I do not.”
Koles: “My team was under my authority, I gave them specific commands deemed necessary at the time because facing the Vampire Queen was an emergency, at behest near the cost of my life.”
Judge Thow: “Would you answer the same for the Serpent King?”
Florence: “Granted that I have been discharged, I will take responsibility of my actions, but…”
Judge Creek: “There is no plea to this appeal, Ms Wyndham. If you, a figure of power, knew what your sister was doing, how would you not stop her?”
Florence: “Because I would risk the lives of her and her team. That choice was mines to make, even if it breaks the rules.”
Judge Graybane : “Henceforth, you still committed crimes. Send in the next witness please, guards.”

I don’t know how fucking long is it ever gonna take. Repeatedly. They’ve confiscated some of our items, and with limited access to certain areas and paths, watched under the fucking eyes of nonetheless, The Abundants.
I’ve probably forgot to mention those fuckers, but they do somehow watch our every step at ease, I don’t know how Koles, or whoever, bribed them out of their way. You can’t tame a cloud before it bursts into a shitty blizzard, not even if you can predict a hurricane.
Not all witnesses, however, were placed, but were still asked regardless of their actions, but such consequences did not mean they would deviate from lesser punishments. It meant house arrests, a fact that either Cal or Forge would enjoy some luxurious, glamorous ways of living or historical books to research in the meantime, or Edris practicing her magic. If we were to go, we’d still need ankle bracelets to be monitored on.
Luc: “How is the process going?”
Rowena: “I’m going in next.”
Luc: “Good luck. I have coffee here—as you requested, your boyfriend asked for shots of rum to be mixed in it. I’ve casted that just in case.”
Prez: “Where does that leave me?”
Luc: “Look after the party animals. If you can teleport back some food or whatever books you’ve gathered. I might not even be home tonight, Til. Watchful eyes under God knows how long…”

Late at night in the courtroom facility, only guards were left in the midst of thin moist as Judge Creek tapped on Judge Seams’ door. He was apparently the highest supreme, as the latter gave him the permission to enter.
Judge Seams: “I thought you wanted to speak with me now that everyone’s left. I will be staying here all night.”
Judge Creek: “Good. I wanted to discuss about the fortress..that leads to the maze. The constriction of the horrors humanity has endured and suffered, managing to trap those within. The Vampire King is still on the loose, for yet Koles and his teams worldwide are unable to handle it, let alone the rest of us.”
Judge Seams: “Indeed, and..?”
Judge Creek: “In this absolution we will not stand by the crimes they committed. They are guilty. The damage has been done. Have we not learnt enough from the Black Death? How sorcery has warped our minds, threatened and burdened us? These people are filthy. I despised those elves, let alone a vampire emperor, whatever the hell he came out crawling from that rotten hole. They must all be executed immediately!”
Judge Seams: “I thought magic was the leading cause as a response, no? To fight back against the dark?”
Judge Creek: “Not even when it is kept in check. It must be obliterated. Do you not foresee these prisoners, what they bring shame to humanity? And what is the purpose of you wanting to speak with me in private—“
Seams launched a blast of energy to the other judge’s chest, as he landed on the floor heavily. He grinned as he looked at the dying man’s body, who was gasping and whimpering for the last breath.
Judge Creek: “But why…_
Judge Seams: “Yes, Creek, I knew you never liked pesky mutants and strangers, ostracizing them doesn’t make you look better. They are enemies, for sure. But I have had enough of your constant bickering and miserable complaints on magic. Now was the perfect time to get rid of you.”
Judge Creek: “You can’t be s-serious! No one lives up to their name! Not even you, you demon stricken—“
Seams kneeled in front of Creek’s head, as he grabbed his hair, his nails sinking deep into his neck as veins of black poison went through his body. In an instant, the judge was no more.
Seams: “Another fool biting the dust. Tarnishing our reputation…In terms of Koles, we will have to deal with them later. But Creek, you poor soul..that is why I will usher the great king’s name in honor and praise, not for you to insult him. Graybane, please leave your chambers for a moment. We have a job to do—disintegrate this very body on my floor. I don’t want it stained.’
