Star Wars: Fate (Prologue/Prequel)

*Title Crawl:*

**A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....**

The New Republic has brought balance to the galaxy again, under the new leadership of General Leia Organa Solo after the battle of End. It also culminated in the birth of Jaina and Ben Solo, both siblings strong in the Force, born three years after the Battle of Endor.

It has been thirty years since the fall of the Empire. Grand Master Luke Skywalker has rebuilt the Jedi Order since then, striving to spread the teachings while trying to discover more about the knowledge of the Force.

Under Luke’s command, the Jedi have triumphed over countless victories, including the destruction of Starkiller base up to the final siege of Exegol, which Republic forces defeated Palpatine in his second coming—led by a reformed Ben Solo, who was previously corrupted by Snoke, the Emperor’s clone who seduced him to the dark side but was brought back to the light by his sister and uncle.

It seems as if the galaxy is devoid of any threat, but the Sith still live on. The recurring attacks on Jedi based planets have forced the Order to retreat, as the New Republic still engages them concurrently.

All hope lies in a fellow friend and apprentice of the Solo siblings, who races against time while being hunted by the Sith.

I’ve heard so many tales about the galaxy. From the Old Republic, the life of Anakin Skywalker, the Clone Wars, the Purge, the fall of the Empire...they were all true. At least that’s what the son said—famed Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker, one of my mentors. But now, we are exiled. Tales and rumours have spread about us, which is why I’m constantly on the run.

Until I felt a hand touching my shoulder—Master Solo’s, as she woke me up from my slumber again. Her appearance face radiates with a warm and pleaseful prescence. Both she and her brother are good friends of mines, despite being master and student and being a few years apart in age, I don’t mind mostly.

Kai: “Jaina? You’re back?”

Jaina: “Time to resume your training, Kai. I’m sorry I left you off. I was...negotiating.”

Kai: “Negotiating? You went off planet?”

Jaina: “Yes, I did. Unfortunately there were some things I had to deal with, which Master Skywalker helped us.”

Kai: “Can I see him?

Jaina: “Yes you may, young Padawan. Until you have finished the trials—you will be ready, Kai.

Kai: “Trials?”

Jaina: “Yes. The dark side. Let it inside you. Let it flow....the Jedi will fall!”

Kai: “This isn’t right...no!”

Master Solo force pushes me through walls, sending my tumbling through many as I end up knocking myself out, pitch black.

Corran: “Kai, wake up. We’re here.”

Kai: “Where are we?”

Corran: “Coruscant. I sensed the Force...you had visions didn’t you? Of Master Solo?”

Kai: “Yeah. She did. Not her brother. So how long have I been out?”

Corran: “Half an hour. I told you not to try the deathsticks.

Kai: “You could have used the talk. Damnit.”

Corran: “I was meditating while you were out, so I took you to Jettser’s restaurant to get a break.”

Kai: “Oh. This is the one continued by his grandnephew, right?”

Corran: “Yup. But enough talk for now, we need to keep moving. Down the lower levels we go.”

Corran is my partner. He’s been doing the scavenging thing for the last three years, also becoming a engineer and part time bounty hunter. Last I recall, he was a Iridonian who was raised on his home planet but his family took him to Dathomir until he was 12. Explains the bit why he’s a warrior, fierce—and a loyal brother to me.

Tragedy struck for him when his mentor, Kasdor Alsten, died on Crait, leaving Skywalker to finish his transition to Jedi Knight. I also had the same treatment, losing a couple of my friends in the battle.

Kai: “Take the speeders. We can head down the chute. Lots of active crime here lately.”

Corran: “Doesn’t happen when the planet is infested with the new Sith Reborn are around—“

Kai: “Wait. I sense some troopers approaching. It’s level 2001, right?

Corran: “Correct. Don’t think about activating your saber going down.”

We take on the speeders we parked about hours ago, down beneath the levels—surrounded by the massive portals, the ventilation shafts of each floor. I know General Organa went to level 4 once, but the lowest, the first, is some place nobody wants to go.

Corran activates his beacon as the trail continues in the descent. He takes the lead as I follow suit, eventually landing on the nearby platforms. We grab our robes from the satchels at the rear end, ensuring we’d be able to keep a low profile here.

Kai: “Anything special on this floor?

Corran: “Partially yes and no, but I sense the data’s around. Follow me closely. I know some of the stuff here.”

Kai: “You lead the way the way then. All I sense is uneasiness as usual.”

Corran: “Black market deals going around. Perhaps it’s the Pykes, the Hutt Cartel...could be more than that. And I forgot to mention, we’re going to meet a broker near the bar.”

Broker eh? Guess if I don’t use my lightsaber, the blasters would come in handy. And talking should be smooth for both of us...
