JM-Verse: The Dark Knight #3: Hunt

The rattled keys lead to an easy entrance for us. I thought it needed a code, but why would criminals hold a deal here if they had to safeguard one?

Time will tell. Robin grabs a flashlight from his pocket and starts to look around. The retinal scans don’t show very much on the first floor except the dark environment. We walk upstairs to the next one as Damian takes the lead.

Damian: “Father, looks like this one has a crack.”

Bruce: “Mhmm. A simple explosive gel will do the trick.”

And the wall does go down. It leads us to another set of stairs...which is rather interesting. To my initial idea of rebuilding Crime Alley (save for the spot that my parents died on), this building...popped up unexpectedly, and I must have shut an eye while reading through the blueprints.

Bruce: “Oracle, give me a background check on this. This building did not exist here, if I recount.”

Oracle: “Yes, you are correct. It used to have a lot of shops in it....and was primarily owned by Janus Cosmetics.”

Bruce: “The mystery deepens.”

Oracle: “However after Roman Sionis became Black Mask...he removed every trace of it. It explains the re-establishment of a warehouse.”

Alfred: “It appears that we are surrounded by these guests, sir.”

Thanks to the built in sonars built by Lucius, I was able to take a closer look. There are multiple men on the top floor of this building. Apparently most ones would either be concealed on the basement level unlike this one.

Instead of stairs there is a ladder that reaches up. Robin takes advantage of this and climbs quickly, with me following in tow. We reach the top floor, but find ourselves concealed by the tight space with the windows, forcing us to lie down in a crouching position.

Sionis: “....as you all know, with these side things being dealt at hand, lets get down to business, shall we?”

Riddler: “And what do you propose this time?”

Sionis: “My plans? It’s simple. Payback. Like how I did with the clown when he used my mask, hired 8 assassins, and took control over my men!”

Riddler: “But you have to admit, he did put on a great show when the Bat intercepted.”

Sionis: “Speaking about the dark knight...his boy came after my head, and tried to kill me. You’d think I’d be so damn stupid? I made a decoy act like I was begging for mercy!”

Riddler: “He trained the Hood well. That’s your part to blame for your men.”

Sionis: “Damnit, Nygma! Just listen for once! I want his boy dead. I will set up a bounty knowing that he’s at large. The Batman is nothing but a distraction....he is not part of the plan.”

Riddler: “Riddle me this, what if he’s eavesdropping...or is he not?”

Sionis: “Not another mystery joke...ugh.”

The Riddler and the Black Mask forming a alliance sounds like something old and new to me. It could be temporary given on what I’m hearing based on the evidence. But they’re hunting for Jason—

Not even by a close second, Damian accidentally knocks a glass shard. The sound seems to draw everyone’s attention.

Sionis: “Who’s up there? Go check it out.”

Clayface: “Maybe you’re just paranoid, Roman. You’re afraid the boy’s here to kill you.”

Sionis: “No I’m not. There must be something up there. If he’s here I will finish him off now.”

Riddler: “And we unleash the bounty then?”

Sionis: “Activate it now, Calculator. Do what you have to.”

Calculator: Upping the amount to 4 grand to 20 million.”

Sionis: “And that will be all. Class....dismissed.”
