Meme Doc P.H.D
Multi Sharp #4: Couch Talks in the Daylight
Life doesn’t go easy. An unexpectedly, things changed so quickly....for me. In just about two days. We decided to file a police report about Chris intervening after he got the mindwipe. Luckily the dosage cleared his memory of me there, but he’s got a lot to answer for.
And with the wonky situation with Doc...I decided to make up excuses. To tell the team about Chris’ status as it was all over the news about the gang who was involved. After getting a one way ticket to the hospital, I worked my way through to lie for the sake of my team. And Doc, with his newfound powers, had to be trained. Atom manipulation and some with healing properties. We took shifts off our schedule , as I allowed him to do so for training.
A week passes by. Then another week. He starts to get better thanks to him being a capable fighter as well, and with his intense research on the medicine, it saved the kids. Probably tested out the blood because the properties worked fine. We ensured the transfusion had to be smooth and now future drawbacks—-which turned out to be none. And with the computer’s assistance, lots of progress there.
Doc: “Well, I guess I do fall into your categories of sidekick. What do you think?”
Multi: “With your training, much better. I mean, I could, cos it lines up perfectly with the invitation and we can do the undercover thing....but...”
Doc: “But what though?” (Sonny jumps up to him and Doc pets him back)
Multi: “You already know how complex it is. The formation, everything. How I got beaten so bad in the past...yeah. The rest is history.”
Doc: “I get it. I mean, you still got me at your back, we can be a team like that. Civilian identities always in the conflict as well. Since day 1.”
Multi: “I’m taking a hiatus with those guys. Not sure when can I even get back together. Some people leave, some get lost....others....I don’t know what they’re up to.”
Doc: “You need a therapy session now?”
Multi: “Thanks but no thanks. But I did have a dream the day I went to bust the gang....it reminded me of Charlie. Again. I was dozing off at the office during lunch.”
Doc: “What did you dream again? The disappearance?”
Multi: “Yes.”
Doc: “I’m sorry. I know you still get the trauma, we’ve been through recovery....but...at this point I’m dubious to be your sidekick with those experiences of yours. I’d rather stay in my role like that.”
Multi: “I get you. I do. Of course I do. You’ve definitely been a great ally and support for these two years....it’s great.”
Doc: “But honestly, even if it’s the two of us along with the dog and the computer, how can we hold off like that as a team? Have you actually thought about how much students you’ve lost?”
Multi: “Too much.”
Doc: “I couldn’t save Mitchell....I watched him go. In the hospital. And Milan, you could but the black ops was never right for you. You appointed Jose instead.”
Multi: “Mitchell....then Charlie....Francesca. My gosh. I feel like I could cry but I can’t. Jeez....”
Doc: “That’s why the other founders asked you to get a break.”
Multi: “I don’t feel like it works man. It just doesn’t. Relocating back home this time...it’s just feeling too much and different. What else have I never encountered? Spaceships? Black holes? Alternate timelines? I’ve seen crap like that already.”
Doc: “And don’t forget Cheese. She would have been an elite. I knew the falling out was a bit too much to handle....*sigh*, am I saying too much to weigh you down Jon? These hands maybe able to heal hearts...but they can’t mend minds.”
At this point, I feel a point of conscience. The images of my previous apprentices flow through me. Isn’t it weird that, considering how young I am, I was mature enough to lead teams? Even with the close age range, to be able to...become one, just like them.
Multi: “Cheese? Darn. I don’t know. I’m feeling very light right now, just my head reconfiguring at this moment. She had those portals like Doctor Strange does, just less powerful without the mystical spells and so so. The rat probably sounded a bit odd, but kinda cool. Able to grow into such giant proportions—-“
Doc: “Like Giant Man? About the size he grew in Civil War?”
Multi: “Yeah, I guess, maybe less smaller than 50 feet. Not sure if it’s about the same power level we’ve all got like comic books or MCU/DCEU stuff.”
Doc: “Well, as anthropomorphic as she was, she probably took the right choice in following the other ninja.”
Multi: “Yup, you’re right on that part. I’m not the perfect samurai....I’m a ronin essentially.”
Doc: “So I guess we’ve went through your choices then? That’s about it for now. You already spilled your guts over legitimate reasons on why you won’t take in another.”
Multi: “At least I don’t function like a once powerful hermit living off an island. I’m still alive, mostly.
Then the phone rang.
VIVA: “Invitation call detected. Not friends or colleagues, sir.”
Doc: If it’s the invitation, then this might be the part you have to change your mind.
A change of plans. Get your act together so we can pretend.”
Multi: “What should I call you then?”
“Doctor Elite will be fine.”
