Justice League Review

I went to see this yesterday, and decided to give it a review. (minor spoilers ahead)

Justice League is basically the fifth movie in the DCEU and sort of the third in a trilogy that concluded the Superman story arc. The story continues on from BvS, months after Superman's death, as Bruce and Diana go recruiting three metahumans, namely the Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg to build a league. In the meantime, there are 3 Mother Boxes around which serves as the MacGuffins that bring Steppenwolf and the Parademons to Earth because he wants them, so the league has to stop the invasion. The opening shot is pretty cool, where Batman is stopping crime and after he takes them down, there's a Parademon scout that shows up, and the scene is clearly reminiscent of the New 52's Origin storyline, and it was pretty cool. Not gonna spoil much about it.

And for the actors, Gal Gadot's performance is still great, she still carries a charm when playing Wonder Woman, and her action scenes were pretty great. Ben Affleck is still great in his role as Batman, he's got a lot of tech in this movie. My favourite goes to the Flash, who is really humorous, and Ezra Miller really does showcase his comedic talents, sharing some good chemistry with the rest of the cast. Jason Momoa as Aquaman is pretty fun to watch too, and he is pretty badass. There's also Ray Fisher as Cyborg, but I found his story a little flat and sometimes boring, but still he is also good in his role. The supporting cast are just as usual, I just wished that Alfred, Gordon and Mera get to do more. I save Superman for the last, but I think Henry Cavill really embraces the role of being Superman in JL. It kind of reminds me of Christopher Reeve.

I loved the action, some of the dialogue, the chemistry that team has with each other, and I liked some of the supporting cast that appeared in this movie. The third act was also really good. I loved Steppenwolf's voice, but he's not really a generic villain, his face really looks like a video game boss, which the Parademons look better than he does. My other issues with the movie was the runtime could have been longer, some of the messy CGI, and some of the scenes we've saw in trailers weren't there. The Superman moustache thing was a little weird, but I managed to sit through it. His return wasn't exactly that surprising.

Still, gotta say say that the DCEU has hope since Wonder Woman came out, I'm looking towards more films to come as the cinematic universe starts growing bigger. It is an improvement over BvS, but it's got flaws and something bad with it. I would rate this movie an 8.5/10.

Bonus: Remember to stay for the two post credit scenes, which are unrelated to each other, but definitely captivates you. Also, might do a Man of Steel review sometime.
