Day and Night (白夜追凶): A Recommendation + Review

So I checked out something new on Netflix and stumbled across a new tv show that they acquired from China, and gave i a watch. So far I have binged on 4 episodes.

 

The premise: A former police captain helps his twin brother, who is being branded as a murderer, must clear his name and find out the person behind it while trying to solve different cases.

 

I did not expect a show that was really good. The main actor (Pan Yueming) plays two guys sharing sort of a similar role, and he absolutely nails it. There’s also a great supporting cast as well.

 

Not gonna say much, but this show is a treat and a must watch in my opinion. Most Chinese shows are really dumb and terrible, but this one does get its inspiration from Nolan’s Insomnia and sort of follows a style similar to American and European tv shows.

 

Comment if you’re going to watch this, plan on watching it or have watched it already. I’ll try to recommend some nice Asian shows if I can.

 

(P.S. this show is extremely well received in China, most sites give it a 9/10 and even a full 10 stars.)
