Cayenne Pepperžalka

ÖBB's ES 64 Taurus 1116 093 about to depart Petržalka with a load of covered steel coils which had been brought in 2 hours earlier by ZSSK Cargo locos.

To right of the frame stands another trainload for onward movement, examples of the third-generation Porsche Cayenne which will have recently been shipped out from the massive Volkswagen plant at Devínska Nová Ves on the northwestern outskirts of Bratislava.

Petržalka station is a connection point between the Slovak 25 kV/50 Hz electrification system and Austrian 15 kV/16.7 Hz network, being the U2 variant

of the popular Siemens EuroSprinter family this presents no operational problem.

From a horticultural and culinary viewpoint, Cayenne is the name of a hot chilly pepper used to flavor dishes, the fruit is tapering in appearance, often with a curved tip and nearly always bright red in colour ... which brings us back nicely to the locomotive pictured resplendent in the livery of Austrian Federal Railways.
