St. Canice's Cathedral

St. Canice's Cathedral in Kilkenny, Ireland.

Built as the cathedral of the diocese of Ossory in the 13th century, the church stands at the site of an early medieval monastery founded by Cainnech, whom the cathedral is dedicated to. A remain of its monastic roots is the 9th century round tower, a typicial feature of Irish monasteries.
