Liverpool

Situated in a square in the heart of Liverpool, this very simple and emotive war memorial.

I really liked the reflection of the soldier on the wet ground, almost like he and his ghost reunited.

 

It's funny how things go. I took a whole bunch of photos in Liverpool and almost instantly deleted all of them as I wasn't at all happy with them. I was then persuaded to relook properly at them and re-evaluate and have actually since been able to pick out around 6 worth keeping.

 

Is it a common thing amongst togs to be too self critical and lose objectivity with our photos. I have had the situation where after a joint photowalk I have really liked someone's photo then realised that I took one very similar but discarded it as not good enough. Does someone else taking the photo almost automatically make it better or do we have a view on what our photo should look like and if it doesn't match up then we dismiss it? Do other peoples photos come with no preconceived ideas and so are more acceptable to us? Or have I completely lost the plot!
