For my first adventure for a long time, it was probably a little ambitious to head up Cwm Bychan as the path upwards didn't seem to want to end and when I say path, I mean a meandering strip that wasn't maybe quite as boggy and rocky as the bits around it. But the views from the top were incredible and so worth it.
Coming down, not so much. Kept losing the path, either disappearing into swamp or bracken.
Also there have been a lot of fires up there recently which didn't help. So the journey down was slow, arduous, unpredictable and towards the end, extremely painful. Didn't help that my shiny new camera weighs an absolute ton too.
But after a fair bit of stumbling and, I am embarrassed to admit, sliding down on my bum, I finally made it to the bottom. 6 hours of some pretty steep climbing and descending, feeling every one of my 57 years and probably a few of someone else's too!.
And only having to stop on the way home 3 times to walk off and stretch excruciating cramp. Needless to say I have barely moved off the sofa for the last 2 days!
What this has actually enabled me to do is resurrect my blog. It's been ages since I shared my nonsense with anyone outside flickr and I figured you'd got away with it long enough.
Still many gaps where I lost most of my pics (Duh!) but hopefully a jolly enough read for a dull moment.
