Visit to Kigali #genocide memorial
On my behalf and on behalf of Mahatma Gandhi University (#MGU) Rwanda, I take this time to pay tribute to the victims of 1994 genocide against Tutsi,
We have heard and now seen that our loved ones were brutally killed, their dignity was stripped off, and their cry for help was unheard. It is very sad, extremely sad to plan and kill innocent people this way.
As we remember our loved ones, we are eager to renew our commitment to Never Again to genocide. What happened in our beloved country Rwanda should never be tolerated anywhere in the world. It is therefore for this same reason that we must remind ourselves to raise our voices against any injustice whenever and wherever it occurs. In the same angle, we should unite and condemn any genocide ideology and genocide deniers. Those who keep denying the genocide in the name of freedom of speech should never be given boards (a platform) to poison their audience.
But again we know that others were left to die but survived. These survivors, most of them widows and orphans, have decided to use their pain and scars as a stepping stone to a hopeful life. We are also committed and stand to support and show solidarity to them by all means we can and build this country towards a better and bright future. In addition to that the chancellor of MGU decided to support genocide survivor students and orphans through offering 10 FULL SCHOLARSHIP. In the end, Today, Rwandans are very positive and optimistic about their future and we are part of them.
Let us unite, renew and empower ourselves.
