Kitshy Neuschwanstein - Bavaria - Germany
One of the most photographed castle in the world (they say) : which means one of the most visited and crowded place you can imagine. This is taken from Marienbrucke, the bridge where is taken the most iconic view of the Neuschwanstein castle. I was there early, because, I trust only morning and evening light, and there was no one there ... A very nice nature, a cascade just facing the castle : such an enchanting mood. The light was not that good, so I figure out that taking a silouhette could be a good idea. Let's be clear : this is more an artwork than a photo. I deliberatly used some split toning to pimp the colors.
The funny thing is that when I went back to the ticket office at 7:40am (20 minutes before opening), I thought I was there soon enough. I was quite wrong : I had to wait 1h30 hour before buying tickets allowing us the visit the castle ... at 4pm ! When we left the castle at the end of afternoon, I managed to convinced my wife to have a look from Marienbrucke (of course, my will to take a better picture had nothing to do with this decision). And then crazy things began : there was an unformal queue in the forest, and we waited about 30 minutes to reach the bridge. What a gap between the quiet morning and the buzy afternoon, it was just not the same place !
It's astonishing how people seem to find acceptable to spend unconfortable hours in crowds (which is a real pain in the a..ss), but no one seem to consider the option of waking early ...Isn't that much easier ?! I did my best to stay calm all day, but the best moment remained the beautiful first hour alone on the bridge: the nice priviledge of early wakers ;) ...
