Boat Cemetery at Golden Hour - Camaret-sur-Mer - Bretagne - France
I am fascinated by rust ! It's so beautiful ! This warm orange-brown color ! I have wandered quite a lot in deserted industrial places and took many shots of rusted things. But I never obtained something satisfactory enough ...
When you wander on the Camaret Harbour (leading to the famous Tour Vauban and Notre-Dame de Rocamadour) and you discover this boat cemetery, you directly feel all the photographic potential, but it's not that easy to exploit it.
I came first after the sunset. I planned to take night shots of the Camaret-sur-Mer village. However, I spent the whole blue hour shooting these boats and I managed only to get banal shots (even if the sky was really astonishing).
So I had to come back early morning to get something really cool. Indeed, the warm golden light of the early morning sun combined with rust and this beautiful old blue painting : it was just perfect !
I just had to find a good angle, and the EF-S10-18mm was just perfect for that : I became really really excited when I discover the effect of having the texture of a hull at the foreground.
It was a real pleasure to be there. I strongly recommend you this place ;) !
I almost used no processing for this shot : the light made everything ...
