真田丸の里より。現在、特別天然記念物ｺｳﾉﾄﾘが、1羽滞在中です。真田幸村にちなんで、ゆきちゃんと上田市では命名されています。皆様に幸せを運んで来ます様に。水を抜いた、ため池、もしくは、水田の、水だけはってある場所で、ドジョウ等を捕食しては、近くの電柱で、休んでいるようです。夕方になると、水田中の鉄塔に帰ります。
Oriental white stork is designated and protected as one of the special national species in JAPAN. Toyo-oka City in Hyogo Prefecture has contributed to the protection of this bird for many years .Thanks to their efforts, the number of this bird has been increasing . About two years ago, one of them came all the way from there to my town, UEDA in NAGANO prefecture . It was the first time that l could see the Oriental stork in my neighborhood .It is more than 500km from here to Toyo - oka. What a long journey she had taken !Since then , she has visited here in UEDA many times .There are said to be more than 100 ponds called TAMEIKE in Japanese . TAMEIKE means an artificial pond used for agriculture, especially for rice farming . They were built by the order of a local FUDAL lord or DAIMYO during Edo period about 400years ago , because of little precipitation around here.
Now SHIODA district located in the western part of UEDA is famous for those ponds called SHIODA DAIRA TAMEIKE GUNN, which have many different kinds of surroundings and living things . Thus an oriental stork with the number of J0041 often visits and stays around the district of SHIODA Daira in search for variety kinds of food or its prey, I think .
