Perch Rock.
Someone told me about the Willy Weather app recently and as I shoot a fair amount of lighthouses it's come in particularly handy. Most of the time I just turn up and take what tide I'm given.
It's proving very handy to get to know various tide heights for the type of shot I had in mind. This was around 6.5m at the time and whilst the lighthouse was still surrounded most of the beach the other side of the breakers was accessible. It's a far better angle for shooting directly at the setting sun but not much by way of foreground other than my usual spots and I feel like I've been doing them to death recently.
Despite the bank of cloud I decided to shoot a little longer and wait to see what the afterglow was like.
