Raby Mere Pano.
I posted this on my FB and a number of people gave their memories of this place from years ago.
There used to be a small fair and old penny slot machines in what is now the parking area and you could rent rowing boats or if you were really posh you could hire a gondala and be punted up the lake. It's an area of the lake I've never seen as it's long and thin and bends to the right just at the middle of the image. Might pop out with the drone one night but think it's in a no fly zone. Anyway, it's owned by a fishery now and you see the odd bivvy and rods dotted about.
Times change and it's still a beautiful spot. The road on the left winds and twists as it drops down in to a hollow and I've noted it down as one I'd like to shoot at sunset a little later in the year when the sun sets more to the North. Possibly with some traffic trails if I decide to go wide enough.
A pleasant afternoon talking to a young family having a weekend picnic. They still had their heads in their mobile phones most of the time but they'd come up from Reading specifically to have the picnic because the Mum was from the area. Dad driving, mum getting slowly pissed on chardonnay:)
