Ade McCabe
Scaleber Force.
Made the slight detour to here whilst making my way to the lone tree above Malham for sunset.
Found it tough going initially taking the muddy but more obvious path down and realising there wasn't any comp I liked. So retraced my steps and made my way down the path I had noted earlier whilst thinking to myself, that looks like a death trap going that way....
I must admit consulting Flickr to check for comps having slipped on my arse twice getting down the death trap path. My instincts correct.
Surprised I had 4g and full bars in what is a little dell amongst mature trees with large hills all around, I was satisfied to be in the right place. Besides, to my eye this is the best composition for here anyway and the late afternoon light was low and off to my right.
My first visit here so not sure about it's usual flow rate but I was having to wipe my filter after and in between shots. I tried between 0.3 and 15 seconds and finally settled on 0.6 which still required me to wait for a lull in the wind.
