Brew With a View.

Half decent forecast so an early start and decided to finally pull my finger out for a leg stretch.

 

Set off from Stanage Edge about 03.30am and walked across the moor to Burbage, down to Over Owler Tor and back via Surprise View/Carl Walk/Higger Tor. Got my timing a little wrong and it was still pretty dark by the time I'd got to my location so made a coffee and found some shelter from the wind.

 

Went with the intention of shooting The KitKat Stones towards Carl Walk, but nothing was happening in that direction. The light eventually came right as the sun got higher and it looked amazing but I was already on the other side of Higger Tor and my knee was complaining. A month off and the hill fitness seems to just disappear. Made a brew and packed up and sat for a good half hour just taking in the light as it changed in Hope Valley.

 

Missed the heather last year and glad I made the effort. It really is stunning at the moment.

 

7.5 miles, back home by 10am, only saw two people. Job's a good 'un.
