Goal for the day was to find the field. The van doesn't have satnav and my phone was on charge in the back so it was back to good old map reading. Less said about that the better, After about 45 mins of retracing then retracing again I pulled over and checked. In the wrong bloody valley! about 8 miles from where I thought I was. I wasn't even on the right OS Map!
I've seen at least 5 fields of poppies since being in the Peak District. Farmers and landowners have given up a field to grow poppies for the 75th anniversary of D-Day. This is the field I've seen hundreds of images of and there were another six or seven people taking pictures as I arrived. Sky a bit boring but pleased to have found it.
