Summer Sunshine & Stickers

Beneath a (nearly) cloudless late-summer sky, BNSF 6022 leads a Tacoma-bound stack.

 

BNSF 6022 was one of the company's 10 commemorative locomotives featuring predecessor logos for the 25th anniversary of the super-merger. A modern version of BN's Pacific Pride units 1 & 2.

 

I happened to catch the 6022 leading previously in the wintertime. But of the 3 "sticker" units I've seen, the sun hadn't cooperated till now.

 

Perhaps it's a little ironic this day was Warren Buffett's birthday.

A lot of fans were dissatisfied with getting "just stickers". Yes, we've been spoiled with companies painting full-on heritage units.

 

They could've done nothing at all, this is something different and uniquely BN. I like it.
