3. Take the pieces you cut from the legs. I reuse the hems from my pants to make the hems for my knickers; you don't have to, but it's easier. Measure from the hem the width you want for the band at the bottom of the knickers (I recommend 2 to 3 inches), or freehand it; cut the band off the bottom of the pants. Again, remember seam allowance!
You should end up with something like the above.
