This would be an example of nature or still life. The lines of the tree bark represent line. The ends of the trees make circles for shape. There's lots of dark glum colors. The bumps on the tree make it look rough to give it texture. There's an equal amount of positive and negative space. There's a minimum depth of field because there's not much behind the subject and its not in focus. Light source is natural from the top. Horizontal framing. Eye to eye point of view. Center position. Emphasis on one point which is the part of the tree sticking up. This was successful because it was creative and the camera work was well done. There's a lot of detail in this image.
