Sanderling / calidris alba. Holy Island, Northumberland. 01/06/25.
'DAPPER ... TASTIC.'
A dapper, hyperactive Sanderling captured busily feeding up for its long journey north. Not a wader I generally see in full breeding plumage, so to come across some in late Spring, was a welcome encounter. Unfortunately none came close enough to make the sort of detailed portraits I would have liked.
