Yellow Rattle

Yellow Rattle / rhinanthus minor. Pioneer Meadows, Derbyshire. 30/05/20.

'TAKING A DIFFERENT VIEW.'

An oblique view of the front of a Yellow Rattle flower.

You can see that the three lobes on the lower lip had a crimped appearance because the flower was not fully open. Tiny, sparkling spider silks adorned the green calyxes from which the flowers protruded.

BEST VIEWED LARGE.
