Wren

Wren / troglodytes troglodytes. Nottingham Canal, Cossall, Nottinghamshire. 30/03/21.

Beautiful late afternoon sunlight was falling on the burst, fluffy seed heads of Reed Mace which chokes Nottingham Canal.

I'd watched and photographed this male Wren who frequently used them as song posts.

Suddenly he popped up very close to where I sat, perching on a tiny sapling. It enabled me to make a more creative image.

I'm pleased with the bokeh of light falling on reed stems, plus the sidelit bird itself ... something a little bit different!
