'A SCARCE TREAT.'
I'm usually guaranteed views of Greenfinch whenever I go to Calke Park, which is a great pleasure.. They are a scarce treat for me these days, due to their huge population decline.
Gone are the Spring mornings filled with their monotonous, 'ripped material' singing ... and the days when my seed feeders were literally covered with jostling olive-green feathers and bright yellow wing flashes! Sad times.
