Pasque Flower DSC_1770

Pasque Flower / pulsatilla vulgaris. Barnack Hills and Hollows, Cambridgeshire. 11/05/17.

The Pasque Flowers seen at Barnack H&Hs were at various stages of development although the majority had reached their peak. I was pleased to find this very fresh flower bud amid a small group. Found like this the deep purple colour seems at its most intense and when light strikes at a particular angle, the flower bud looks metallic. BEST VIEWED LARGE.
