'THE SILENT JAY.'
The Jay put in an appearance a few times during my stay in the wood but never once made a direct fly-in. It's preference was to land at a distance, usually on a well screened perch. From there it worked it's way hesitantly towards the feeding area. All the time it was vigilant, looking round in every direction.
