Greater Stitchwort DSC_2510

Greater Stitchwort / stellaria holostea. Mapperley Wood, Derbyshire. 16/05/16.

Captured in a local wood at the end of an afternoon.

The sun dramatically hit these flowers whenever it showed between the fast racing clouds. At such times they appeared as dazzling white stars.

More often however, the flowers looked like this in their shady growing place at the side of a footpath.

Here their heads were gently jostled by the breeze, so were never still for long.

I enjoyed experimenting, to try and capture the sense of movement I saw. This image goes some way towards my goal.
