Palazzo San Marcos: Venice, Italy

My plane got in last night and I checked in at the bed and breakfast I would be staying at for a couple of days. I was so happy to walk into my room to be greeted by the smell of dead cats. I was about to complain when I stopped myself and remembered that I was in Italy. Like, I was in freaking Italy. Plus, this was all I could afford, so I embraced the smell of rotting feline corpses. And by embraced, I mean I stuffed toilet paper up my nose so I could sleep. Anyways......... At this exact moment, I’m back in the smelly room, but I took this picture today. The plaza was so crowded, but I didn’t even care. Everything around me was absolutely beautiful: the architecture, the people smiling, the weather, and so much more. All I did was wander around for hours, letting myself get lost in the unfamiliar. I never got to do what I did today when I was studying abroad. I was always on somebody else's schedule, doing what somebody else wanted me to do. Here, I am free. I can’t wait for tomorrow, and Bologna.
