Iglesia de Santo Tomás

Chichicastenango, Guatemala

 

When I walked into this church, I was immediately overwhelmed by the presence of god. I sat down on a pew and started to weep. A poor woman came over to me and asked for money. I didn't have any change for her. That made me cry even more. She knelt to pray just two pews in front of me. I was so overcome, I took this photo to distract myself. Photos are not permitted in this church, but I am sure I will be forgiven for taking this one.
