Südblock is a café and event venue on the south side of the Kottbusser Tor in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
On the south side of the Kottbusser Tor, a residential development with a bridge house was built across Admiralstrasse between 1973 and 1977. The architect was Herbert Stranz. The development at the top of Block 88 between Reichenberger and Kottbusser Strasse was completed in 1983. The facade design comes from Hans Wolff-Grohmann.[8]

The housing development is sometimes called der Südblock ("the south block"). The name of the Südblock café and event space is partly a nod to the area's architecture.
Südblock was founded by the activist Tülin Duman (GLADT e.V., Netzwerk Diskriminierungsfreie Szene für Alle! and many more), Richard Stein (formerly of Möbel Olfe), and others. The project was created in the context of the "pressure situation"[ at "Kotti" (Kottbusser Tor) and offers a forum for tenents' associations such as Kotti & Co., social service advice such as Harzer Roller, lectures and cultural events.
