Lotus Mark VI 1:43 scale model - rear detail

The original Lotus VI registered "XML 6" was completed in July 1952 using a Ford Consul engine.

The car first raced at Silverstone on the 5th of July.

Lotus founders Colin Chapman, Hazel Chapman and Michael & Nigel Allen all drove the car during July.

The car was written off on the 1st of August in a road accident.

Following the success of the VI, orders flowed in.

This car spawned generations of successful Lotus racers.

This 1:43 recreation of the first Lotus Mark VI has been made by SMTS (Scale Model Technical Services) of Hastings.

The first model of a Lotus VI.
