Once in a Lifetime Coincidence

This cute little hedgehog got caught up in one of our neighbours garden nets. He must have been captured for a while already cuz this green shiny flies had not only placed their eggs on his warm skin, the most of them were already hatched. Thus his whole body was covered with maggots and a nasty smell which attracted those flying parasites back to their breeding ground. He was constantly surrounded by a sworm, nervously seeking for their young.

My ma and I cut him free, nursed and washed him and finally released him into a small stripe of forest close to our gardening community.
