BLACKWELL Harold Ernest Rupert. Private, 186, 19th Battalion, Australian Infantry. He received a bomb wound to his leg back and abdomen in Gallipoli on the 15th October 1915, Transferred to Valletta on Hospital Shipp, Fomosa Died of his wounds, 23rd October 1915, aged 26 years. and was buried the same day in Pieta Military Cemetery. The son of Ernest Valentine and Janet Mary Blackwell, of ‘Alberta’, Archer Street, Chatswood, New South Wales. Born at Narrabri, New South Wales. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta. His brother, Trooper 376, John Milton Roy 5th, Australian Light Horsewas killed in action at Gallopoli on the 28th June 1915. He is at rest in Shell Green Cemetery, Turkey.
