So I'll be honest - only part of this was a new favorite technique. I'm still not won over on loose glitter. It's just so stinking messy! It was fun mixing my own colors of glitter, though. I only have a few colors, so it was fun to be able to stretch my supplies! I used the Cool Diamond glitter as the base, and then assorted colors of alcohol ink to color it. Again, you get a more translucent glitter with this technique than with the "real" colored glitters. But I kind of felt like chemistry meets crafts. I'm a science girl, so it was kind of fun. I covered a circle base with double-sided adhesive sheets and then stuck down the SSS Smile Circle die. Then I poured on the glitter and burnished it.
SSSFlickrChallenge#71 is a favorite technique. Like I said, the color-mixing was fun... but I'm not so sure I'll be using a ton of loose glitter in the future. But I got carried away mixing up different colors and have to use it up now!
SSS Wednesday Challenge is A Bit of Sparkle, so I'm also linking over there.
