CFRNA aka FRnA Medal, 1923, Founder detail

Aristide BLANK (01/01/1883 in Bucarest - 01/01/1960 in Paris)

 

is a Romanian Economist, moved in Paris, and President of the Marmormosch-Blank Bank, founded by his father Maurice (Macritschiu) and established in Romania.

He dreamed of connecting Bucharest to Paris (and other european Capitals) in one Day, following a Diner with Prince Carol.

In April 1920, he wrote a Cheque to Charles Pierre CLARET, Comte de Fleurieu (future CEO of the Cie), for several Millions

The "FRnA" was launched April, 23rd 1920.

 

Although the Idea of an Air Route between Paris and Bucharest was considered from the End of WWI, during the Trianon Peace Talks, by romanian Diplomat Nicolae TITULESCU and his french Counterpart (and future first President of the Company !), the General DUVAL, Initiative went to Prince Carol, BLANK and CLARET.

 

As the Symbol of Franco-Romanian Cooperation in the Field of Aviation, the CFRNA inaugurated on September 12th 1922, the first Passengers transcontinental aerial Link between Paris (Bourget) - Strasbourg (Neuhof Polygone)- Prague (Kbely)- Varsovie (Mokotov)- Vienne - Budapest - Belgrade - Bucarest (Băneasa) – Istanbul.

 

This Company was also the First in the World to operate a international Night Flight with Passengers (September, 10th 1923).
