ADJUSTABLE LENS SPANNERS

Lens spanners. At top we see my calliper lens spanner. I bent the ends into the shape shown and ground the tips with a diamond file. Below this we see a lens spanner I made from a plasterboard circle cutter. I removed the central part and disregarded it. The two cutting blades I then shaped with files to fit the slots in lens retaining rings. I tempered the ends by heating to straw colour and quenching in oil; below this is its Allen key. Also shown is a standard lens spanner.
