56119 Passing Through Leeds with Oil Tankers.

One of my photos with no date -this must have been middle to late 80s maybe even early 90s.

Leeds station as it was before rebuilding and gaining more platforms where these tracks are now. These used to be the storage / avoiding lines through the station with no platforms.

The station was rebuilt in 2000 and is now regarded as full again - but there is no room to grow so an innovative solution will have to be found.

 

The diesel looks fine, if not a little grubby, in its British Rail Large Logo livery which suited the 56s very well indeed.
