Despite the railway knowing these units were coming and the fact they are running successfully with GWR the December launch of the Est Coast Class 800 has been delayed from December this year to - sometime next year.
Inteference with a variety of thigs such as cctv, signalling and other lectrical items has seen them banned from service until resolutions can be found.
The launch, as far as I'm aware, was only for 1 or 2 units to use the Leeds route as a 'soft' launch until further problems were ironed out but even this is deemed too soon to get any of them into service.
Looking smart in its new LNER livery, 800103 stands south of Doncaster station near the new Hitachi depot. Looking every bit a smart, high speed, continental train - hopefully - ushering new standards and timetables when they arrive.
