Bradford, West Yorkshire. 1935
A photograph taken circa 1935 from Cemetery Rd (A main route round the City) and looking across the City itself.
Bradford was a big industrial place and the number of chimneys visible here were but a few of the many - each billowing out their smoke.
The photo looks reminiscent of a Lowry painting. Inbetween the towering stacks can be seen the mass of back to back housing built to house the workers - some of which still survives in the Lidget Green and Great Horton areas.
