FLU & RLU
New signs appearing on the Brighton Main Line and the Thameslink routes FLU and RLU.
These are specially for the new class 700 units currently being tested and due for introduction.
As they are permanently fixed sets they have their own STOP markers at the stations:-
FLU = Full Length Unit
RLU = Reduced Length Unit.
Along with the 4 Car Stop, 5-8 Car Stop , 9 Car Stop & 12 Car Stop the available hanging space is becoming rarer!
I can remember when drivers didn't need to be told where the correct place was to stop the train.
