Berkeley, St. Mary.

The church is next to Berkeley castle. The tower was built separately in the far corner of the churchyard, to prevent it being used to dominate the castle in a siege. The former Saxon/Norman church was rebuilt in the 13th and 14thc. while the Berkeley chapel was added in 1450.
