Gloucester cathedral.

Founded in 1089 as the Abbey of St. Peter, Gloucester, and raised to cathedral status at The Reformation. The nave, with its massive cylindrical columns, dates from the 12thc. The Quire, Presbytery and Ambulatory are late 11thc, but were given a Perpendicular make over in the mid 14thc. The Lady chapel and central tower are 15thc.

The cathedral was undergoing restoration at the time of my visit, so it was quite challenging to get exterior shots without scaffolding and metal fences getting in the way.
