Writtle, All Saints.

The earliest fabric dates from the 1230's. All Saints has been much restored over the years, the tower and part of the nave arcade were rebuilt in the mid 19thc. The church was subjected to an arson attack in 1974 which destroyed the roof, and then tragically another arson attack in 1991.

Writtle has some good brass monuments and Victorian glass.
