In the post genomic era, identifying a novel microRNA (miRNA) from the associated genes of an autoimmune disease and identifying the role of miRNA in the pathways associated with the disease pathology is a challenging task to execute. The challenge was approached by identifying the associated genes of Lichen Planus from DisGeNET followed by the identification of miRNAs from miRTarBase and transcription factors from RegNetwork.
