Every fire alarm box in the Boruogh of Manhattan was hooked into that fortress like one story building located right near this over pass. Every call for FDNY services came through that building.

Neva Ever Easy says: The Amityville Dominicans. The Old School (1909) the New School (1954)........ A great place to live in the 40s.I was blest to recieve my elementary school education in those two buildings. 7 years in the red brick and 6 months in the new ( at the time ) orange brick building. I owe my place in life to the wonderful Amityville Dominican Sisters.who taught me there for those eight formative years.
