Feral no more,
Rosie is my neighbor's cat. She was a feral kitten , however when she was wee tiny kitty, she was adopted by their female black Labrador retriever named "Buca" .
Over the years, they were attached, so to speak .."at the hip".. but she continued to maintain a guarded distance from any direct human contact.
Recently her adopted Mom, "Buca" passed away. In a distinct effort to preserve those sweet, tender feelings of warmth, love and security that she found in her dear and cherished friend Buca, Rosie, the once feral kitty decided to " come in from the cold" and so after all these years, she has moved into the house. She is still somewhat weary of humans, however, but I count myself as one of the lucky ones who she recognizes, loves and trusts.
