"My regrets are about the people I couldn't save..." Chris Kyle
I was a bit skeptical about reading American Sniper only because it took me forever to really get into Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell and it kind of set my expectations for reading books about men telling their stories of war.
American Sniper on the other hand, had me hooked from the first page. From the first paragraph actually. The book had such a good narrative and stuck to being from the point of view of Chris Kyle. It talked about being a SEAL and how things went down but there was also humor, confidence, anger, the book had life. The movie on the other hand, is a different story.
I have said this before and I'll say it again. The book is always better than the movie. Especially with true stories like Unbroken, Lone Survivor and American Sniper. There are so many things that the movie got wrong and so much more that could have been included to make the movie better. But props to the movie for being such a hit.
